Anna Silk was born in Fredericton as the child of Peter Silk, an academic as well as Ilkay Silk, a multi-talented actress, director, producer, playwright, teacher, and director of drama of Drama at St. Thomas University. Anna was born in Fredericton, the daughter of Peter Silk and Ilkay Silk. Her mother is an "English-Turkish Cypriot ex-pat" that is originally from Britain. Anna remembers attending performances for her performances as a kid as well as watching her mother at work. In her early years, Anna played in commercials for a number of companies. In November 1999, Anna moved to Toronto for the purpose of advancing her acting career. She eventually moving to Los Angeles, California, in the following decade.
